The French are renowned for their fantastic food & wine, which can be enjoyed in the wealth of cafes & restaurants found in Cannes. These range from the very lavish for a special night out, to small friendly bistros where you can enjoy an inexpensive 3 course meal, with locally produced wine. Here are some excellent restaurants to suit all budgets and occasions.

Au Bureau

Great for a late night meal, much of Au Bureau is given over to a bar area. It has a slightly pubby feel to it, and the food is quite eclectic, but generally very good. There is a resident DJ, and later on in the evening there is quite often dancing in the lounge bar area.

Aux Bon Enfants

A tiny restaurant with a limited set menu, but very popular and serving good quality food. In business for over 60 years, the cuisine is traditional and the restaurant offers a warm and friendly bistro ambience with extremely friendly service.

l'Amandier de Mougins

It is well worth the drive to this restaurant (approximately 15 – 20 minutes). Arrive early if you can and wander around the lovely village centre before you sit down for your meal. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and served by very friendly staff. It is very popular, so book in advance, and if it is warm ask for a table on the terrace, which has great views.

Le Bistrot des Artisans

Definitely one only for meat eaters! Slightly out of the way (near the junction of Bd de la République & Rue du Sgt. Bobillot) with fairly limited menu usually featuring dishes such as marrow & liver, this restaurant is nevertheless very popular and the fillet steak served with potato dauphinoise & vegetables is excellent. There is also a good selection of puddings that you can help yourself to!

La Cave

Very popular with local residents, this is another very small restaurant, so make a reservation if you want to be sure of a table. With a bistro ambience and classic cuisine, as well as an extensive wine list, a meal at La Cave is both enjoyable and filling.

Le Caveau

This restaurant has a pleasantly old-fashioned feel, and specialises in local fish & seafood and has an excellent wine list
